June 20th through the 25th we will be having a sale on charts! Buy one, get one half off! Also, feel free to bring your stitching with you and stitch with us for a while! Our stitching table is open whenever we are and I love seeing your WIPs.
We will be having late night stitch nights on Fridays for a while. Open until 10. So, those of you who don’t come friday nights because there’s not enough time to stitch, now’s your chance!

Yes fellow stitchers, we will be having another Memorial Day Sale! This year you get the chance to pick your discount! There will be a basket full of discounts that you will draw from. Discounts will start at 20% off your entire purchase and go up from there. One lucky stitcher will get 40% off!!! You get one pick a day starting Friday and ending close of business on Monday. The offer extends to all pre-paid special orders and out of towners too! If you are out of town, just call or email me with what ya want. If you like, we can give you a straight 20% discount, or if you’re feeling adventurous, we will draw a discount for you!

Hello stitchers! The Stitcher’s Hideaway has decided to host a stitch retreat at Creations Main House in Kerrville Texas during the last weekend in July! The house sleeps 24 and there is a possibility of having an additional 6 stitchers who stay off-site. Cost of the weekend is $200 – includes lodging and food. A deposit of $50 is required to hold your spot with the balance due by July 15th. We are planning lots of fun things for the retreat included a mystery box, raffle, goodie bags, and doorprizes. And I’m in the process of securing a massage therapist to do chair massages as well

So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted on this site. As most of you know, our shopping center suffered a fire at the beginning of September and we were closed for a month. As soon as we were able to move back in, and had electricity, we were inundated with lots of ladies wanting to help set the shop back up to get us open as fast as possible. I want to personally thank all those ladies for coming in and for their hard work. It was very greatly appreciated! I also want to thank everyone for their comfort and support from near and afar during this challenging time. I have some of the greatest customers in the world!
It’s been crazy around here since we re-opened. A little craziness is good, but it does feel great to have just a tad of downtime to get the website updated! Now that I’m down to one commission piece to do, I’ll have more time to get online and update our online shop, so keep your eyes out for new stuff going up!
We are continuing to do our Saturday Stitch-ins on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month, so come on in and join us! The next stitch-in will be on the 20th and we’ll be meeting for breakfast at 8 at Los Generales off of Nacogdoches. Just right down the street! As always, please let us know if you will be joining us for breakfast so we can make sure the table is big enough for everyone!
With replacing all inventory due to smoke damage, and the recent online needlework show, we have lots of new stuff coming in everyday, so come check us out!

…is THIS Saturday! Breakfast will be at Grumpy’s at 8. Grumpy’s is off of Nacogdoches in Bracken Village. Please RSVP if you plan on making it to Grumpy’s so I can warn them that we’re coming! Also, RSVP if you plan on stitching…I have a limited amount of table space and chairs, so I’ll need to know if I need to get more!
The stitch-in on the 7th was a great success. We had many stitchers here at the shop and there was actually a lot of progress made on projects! Breakfast was great as well. I think all had a good time! Looking forward to many stitch-ins to come.

Attention all stitchers! THIS Saturday, August 7, we will be hosting a stitch-in at the shop! For those interested in meeting beforehand for breakfast, we’ll be meeting at 8:00 am at Magnolia Pancake Haus. Not a place to miss in my opinion! Address is 606 Embassy Oaks in San Antonio. The nearest major cross streets are West and Bitters. I haven’t been there in a while and am anxious for it to be Saturday! After breakfast we’ll be heading back to the shop to stitch our little hearts out. The shop will be open until the last stitcher falls!
Starting August 21st, we’ll be making the Saturday breakfast and stitch-in a habit on the 3rd Saturday every month! Stay tuned because breakfast places will change. The 21st breakfast will be at Grumpy’s in Bracken Village off of Nacogdoches (nearest cross street 3009). After that, who knows?
All I ask is that you RSVP for breakfast by the Thursday before each stitch-in so I can warn the restaurants that we are coming (and we won’t have to wait hours for a table)!
And, if there’s enough interest, you may be able to convince me to do this twice a month….

Today is a big day for us here at The Stitcher’s Hideaway. First off, our Christmas in July sale begins today! Receive a 15% discount on all Christmas charts and red, green and metallic fabrics and fibers. Kit up a Christmas project and receive 20% the whole kit! The sale will last a full week and is open to in store and online orders. It will even include special orders! So, now is the time to get all the Christmas stitching started! For those of you ordering online – I apologize that I haven’t put up much Christmas stuff on the website yet. I will be working on that throughout the week. In the meantime, check out hoffmandis.com to get an idea of what I may have or even what I can order, and shoot me off an email with what you want.
Next – beginning today also – enter to win a custom made tote bag filled with goodies! I’m currently working with Needlecrafts by Lori to design the perfect tote. I think you will love it! I already know that I’m going to have a hard time letting it go and all I know is what the outside fabric is going to look like! I’ll post pictures and keep you updated as the bag is designed and made. Every purchase between today and August 30th will receive and entry into the drawing. The drawing will be held on August 31st. All who purchase are eligible for the drawing.
One last thing – we have just booked a Trunk Show with My Big Toe! I’m so excited I can’t contain myself! Of course, their next opening isn’t until March of 2011, so mark your calendars and be here! It’s a great time to visit San Antonio as the heat won’t have set in yet I’m still working with other designers to get a trunk show in here before next year, so stay tuned!

Ellen Chester, designer for With My Needle, will be in the shop on Monday, July 19th! Take the day off, gather all you With My Needle projects, and come in to show them off! (dangerous, I know!) …there are quite a few people here in the San Antonio and Austin areas who are crazy enough to work on rather large projects. Me, being one of them, would like to have an evening where we can all get together and work on them. That way, we can meet, support, and encourage each other in our endeavors. Would anyone out there be interested in this? My thoughts were to stay open late one Saturday a month. Maybe we can plan a “pot luck” type meeting where everyone can bring a snack or drink? I do have coffee, tea and water available at the shop, and Buon Giorno is open until 8 as well. Just throwing some ideas out there. Let me know what you think! Either comment on the post or shoot me an email and we’ll figure something out. Of course, if you’re not one of those people who are crazy enough to work on things like Heaven and Earth Designs, or Mystic Stitch, or such, you are still welcome to join us on those evenings! This is NOT going to be an exclusive club.
